In this episode, Craig D’Amico joins me to discuss Disney Vacation Club benefits and info. Craig is a long-time DVC owner. He shares his family’s DVC story and his passion for traveling to Disney destinations. We cover the ins and outs of DVC ownership, including buying a DVC contract directly from Disney versus a third party and how to determine how many points to buy. We get into the details about the benefits of staying at each DVC resort at Walt Disney World. We also discuss the benefits of being a DVC owner for families, for couples, and for singles.
THIRD-PARTY RESALES
If you are considering buying into DVC through a third party, there are some important restrictions to these resale contracts. Disney Vacation Club implemented new restrictions on resale purchases made after January 18, 2019. From then on, DVC resale contracts purchased for the original 14 resorts at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and 3 stand-alone locations will only be able to use their points at those 14 existing resorts.
This means that future resale buyers will not be able to use their points at Disney’s Riviera Resort, Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, and any other future DVC resorts yet to be built.
Perhaps more significantly, buyers who purchase a resale of Disney’s Riviera Resort or Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge will only be able to stay at the DVC resort they purchased. Effectively, this creates two tiers of DVC resorts on the resale market.
